Chelsea Hupalowsky was born, raised and began her dance training in Cleveland, Ohio. Studying primarily at Carmella’s Dance Studio, Cleveland Dance Theatre, and Cleveland Ballet Conservatory, she focused her training on ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, and tap, though is proficient in many other genres. Summer programs include Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, American Ballet Theatre Collegiate, The St. Louis Ballet, and The Joffrey Ballet at the University of Akron.

Chelsea studied dance at The University of Akron in Akron, OH; receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts, and graduating Magna Cum Laude. While at UA, she had the opportunity to work with Keigwin + Company, MOMIX, Camille A. Brown, Doug Varone and Dancers, Paul Taylor II, and many more. Chelsea has been fortunate to learn from a variety of remarkable teachers, including Carmella Dixon, Margaret Holden, Desmond Davis, Kerry Skuderin, Jenny Burnett, Robin Prichard, Christina Foise, Andrew Carroll, Kara Stewart, and Cydney Spohn.

Chelsea feels fortunate to have an extensive performing career, expanding throughout many mediums and throughout the country. She currently resides in New Hampshire where she choreographs and performs with M&D Playhouse, Theater in the Wood, and Beau-Tie Entertainment. Past dance ventures include Universal Studios Orlando, RWS & Associates, Santa’s Fantastical, Six Flags Over Texas, The Sin City Opera, Capone’s Dinner & Show, Drapinski Dance Company, The Cirque Magique, Nick’s Parlor Tricks, Cirque by Night, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company II, Papa’s Comedy Cabaret, and many others. She has performed at the Cincy Fringe Festival, Ohio Dance Festival, House of Blues Orlando, Flash Foxy Fall Fest, Heinz Poll Summer Dance Festival, Centerfest Cleveland, World of Dance Orlando, and Northeast Ohio Dance Festival. She has performed works by Paul Taylor, George Balanchine, Alexandra Beller (Alexandra Beller and Dancers), Steven McMahon (Ballet Memphis), Marlayna Locklear (Dayton Contemporary Dance Company), and Rob Priore (Company E).

Chelsea also has experience in television, film, and hosting. She is currently an on-air host on White Mountains Today on Outside TV, and a weekly cohost on “Charity Chatter” on Valley Vision TV-3. She has recently emcee’d with Inferno Dance Competition’s 2022 tour and Cranmore Mountain Resort’s Spring Splash 2022. Other TV appearances include “wingbearing” on Hot Ones the Game Show on truTV, and with Random Acts of Culture.

Instruction and choreography are also continuing passions of hers. As M&D Playhouse’s choreographer, she recently choreographed professional performances of Cabaret, Nunsence, and Xanadu. She most recently directed and instructed summer theatre camps at Believe in Books Literacy Foundation in Bartlett, NH. Chelsea builds an early dance appreciation with grades K-5 at past elementary school positions including dance instructer at Windermere Prep and formerly adjunct dance faculty at Perkins Elementary School. She has served as head of the dance department, Zumba program, and resident choreographer for multiple summers at Camp Manitou in McKellar, Ontario. While an instructor at Cleveland Ballet Conservatory, she choreographed pieces for The Nutcracker Suite, Mary Poppins, and Alice in Wonderland. She also created works for various University of Akron shows, such as “Choreographer’s Workshop,” “Spring into Dance,” “Cabaret Company,” “UADC,” and “What’s Next?” Her choreographed routines for the North Royalton High School Cheerleading Competition Team include a routine performed at a Cleveland Cavalier’s home game. Her work and artistic process were featured on ZTV’s “Lowdown.”
